JC Dávila's BLOG post #5 - Going Ahead

It’s been a very interesting week for editing, pulling out selects and building provisional scenes helps me to keep discovering new things of my documentary. I am testing out my production schedule to see if it really works. So, far I am behind with the goals I had for this week. I considered modifying my production schedule, but my actual plan still seems best than any other option. I am confident that I need to spend more consecutive hours on the editing room. This past week I have edited mostly in blocks on four hours, however I am trying to adapt my overall schedule to work around eight to ten hour shifts. Inspiration and muse comes after the 6th hour.

As planned I started putting together the scenes of my participant, Efraín. I feel very pleased with the cutting so far, even though it doesn’t make sense necessarily. In one way or the other I am scared, scared that the way I am cutting eventually gets me to nothing. Anyways, I am going to risk it, see what can happen, there is no adventure without risk. I want to have an adventure editing this documentary… Let's go ahead!
