Michelle's Final post

Hello all,

The end of the quarter really snuck up on me.

I have been trimming my rough cut regularly, almost on a daily basis.  I am really happy with the way it is coming together but, I notice that I am starting to struggle with the fact that there are so many topics that I want the film to touch on and there is no way 20 minutes is going to be enough. I know I need to cut stuff out, but I am having a hard time figuring out what must go and what must stay. I want it all to stay

I am also starting to hear different recommendations from different advisors regarding whether or not I should include the chocolate industry professionals in my film.  I personally feel like even at 30 min, my film just feels like a preview, and if I take more screen time away from Samuel then the audience will not get that human connection, which is really important to me.  I think Samuel is capable of speaking on all the issues himself.  However, I may just spend the time and make a cut with the chocolate industry professionals in it just to make sure my instinct to leave them out is right.

Something I really think I need to work on is the pacing of my film, right now I think it feels like someone dancing with two left feet. I want to create the film version of the tango or cha cha cha!

Also, I am still unclear exactly how I want my Introduction to look. My creativity is at an all time low lately and as I move into thinking about the animation for my film, specifically the introduction, I am feeling at a loss for good ideas.  Perhaps some time off and away will get my creative juices flowing again.

Foley sound is also something that I anticipate having to spend a good amount of time on next quarter.  There are 2 major scenes that I have absolutely no sync sound due to technical malfunction during production.   For me, it is torture watching these scenes without sound…. I apologize if it is as painful for anyone else, I will work on fixing this next quarter.
